OPEN LAB DAYS

Open Lab Days at DYVÓLAB are an open invitation to explore design, sustainability, and digital fabrication in an inclusive and collaborative environment. These sessions provide access to upcycling and fabrication tools, guided by DYVÓ’s expert team. Participants can develop their own mission-oriented or community-driven ideas, receive mentorship, and connect with others across the creative, environmental, and tech sectors.

Every three months, DYVÓLAB launches an open call inviting individuals or groups to apply with an idea that tackles waste management creatively and collaboratively, engaging local stakeholders and generating community impact. Selected projects enter a three-month incubation period, moving from concept to prototype. Open Lab Days are hands-on, community-centered, and rooted in DYVÓ’s mission to democratize access to tools, knowledge, and innovation.

OPEN LAB DAYS 2026 - FIRST ROUND

  • K•AIE GROUP

The K•AIE group is the next group we present in this new edition of the “Open Lab Days” program, who have started their project with a focus on waste upcycling.

Their project stems from reflecting on our daily habits, especially the constant use of single-use plastic bags in supermarkets. Now, through our creative program and access to our laboratory machinery, the group is exploring new possibilities and approaches towards a practical solution that aims to reduce this practice.

  • SPIRAL GROUP

We present to you the SPIRAL group, participants in the new edition of “Open Lab Days,” currently working on an artistic installation.

Their project addresses environmental issues through a creative and experimental approach, combining different elements and recycled materials to encourage awareness and reflection. With the support of our program and access to the laboratory spaces, they are developing this idea into an installation that aims to offer a unique experience for the public.

OPEN LAB DAYS 2025 - THIRD ROUND

  • THE FABRICATORS

‘The Fabricators’ presented a creative and enthusiastic project that focuses on upcycling textile waste, transforming it into an eco-friendly tangram. This project gives new life to textile materials that are usually thrown away, turning them into play and learning tools for children.

  • THE ECOPLAYERS

'The ECOPLAYERS' presented a creative project that comes in the form of a strategic game, with the aim of raising awareness about environmental issues in our city. The game addresses real environmental challenges, transforming them into situations that encourage critical thinking, collaboration and sustainable decision-making.

OPEN LAB DAYS 2025 - SECOND ROUND

  • SHEQERAT

The group Sheqerat is presenting an installation that aims to raise awareness about the plastic waste generated from diabetes care tools. Their project involves building a human-shaped sculpture, filled with plastic insulin pens placed in the specific parts of the body where insulin is usually injected.

  • LORA VEGA

The main goal of Lora’s project is to identify the tools missing in the school and produce them through a sustainable and eco-friendly process. The use of upcycled plastic for making educational materials marks an important step toward raising environmental awareness and integrating sustainability into education.

OPEN LAB DAYS 2025 - FIRST ROUND

  • PAV GROUP

PAV has launched an innovative project that involves producing 3D printer filament by repurposing plastic bottles. This recycled filament will be used to print three-dimensional models of chemical molecules, which will serve as educational tools in schools.

  • ERZA & DRIERA

Erza and Driera are designing toys for child patients at the Pediatrics Department of QKUK. The toys are being made using upcyclable materials, with the aim of bringing joy to the children while also promoting environmental responsibility.
