SPIRAL GROUP

As part of the first edition of the Open Lab Days 2026, the SPIRAL group has pushed the boundaries of experimental art and environmental sustainability. Through the use of our space and technology, Elira Musliu, Erijona Muji and Erblina Karaliti have concretized an artistic installation where plastic waste is no longer seen as waste, but as building blocks of a powerful social message.

The project was finalized with the creation of a prototype for a public installation in the form of an architectural dome, which is built entirely from recycled plastic bottles. This realization process harmoniously intertwined upcycling with modern production technologies. To enable the sustainability of the structure and the connection of the bottles to each other, a 3D printer was used to create connecting nodes, which were designed in advance through three-dimensional modeling programs.

In parallel, the precision of the form and the study of the model were achieved through the laser cutting technique, which enabled a detailed representation of the model before it was concretized in real dimensions. This work brings together contemporary architecture and environmental protection, offering a unique visual and spatial experience that invites the public to reflect on the reuse of waste and the great potential of experimental art in transforming our public spaces. The "SPIRAL" project proves that when creativity meets technology, waste can be transformed into monuments of ecological awareness.
