THE FABRICATORS

As part of the third edition of Open Lab Days 2025, the group “The Fabricators” presented a creative project carried out with great dedication, which focused on the upcycling of textile waste. Through this project, they aimed to transform discarded materials into useful products, turning them into building blocks for educational tangram-style toys.

During the implementation process, they collected and reused textile waste, processing it into various geometric shapes that could be combined to create different figures and structures. These play blocks were designed to be safe for children to use, durable, and visually appealing, encouraging creativity, logical thinking, and the development of various skills.

The main goal of this project was to combine sustainability with imagination and education. By creating toys that are safe, functional, and enjoyable, “The Fabricators” aimed to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional toys while simultaneously promoting environmental responsibility.
