********HOW "PLASTIC" ARE OUR HUMAN RIGHTS?********

! YEARLY THEME ANNOUNCMENT !

In 2025, we have chosen to focus on a new approach to discussing plastic waste and its social impact: "How Plastic Are Our Human Rights?"

This conceptual theme encourages reflection on how plastic pollution not only destroys the environment but also directly and unjustly infringes on fundamental human rights.

Plastic waste is not just an environmental crisis; it is a silent threat to our lives. When the water we drink becomes poisoned, when the food we eat is contaminated, and when the air we breathe fills with microplastics, our most basic rights are directly violated: the right to health, to a dignified life, and to a clean environment.

Moreover, it is the poorest and most marginalized communities that suffer the most from plastic pollution, further deepening social and economic inequalities.

Through this series of Multimedia content, we will explore how plastic waste has become a form of human rights violation and invite ourselves to ask: When our rights are endangered by a pollutant that does not decompose, do our rights too become fragile, deformed, and "plastic"?
