LORA VEGA

As part of the second edition of Open Lab Days 2025, participant Lora Vega presented an innovative project focused on improving learning conditions at the public school “Xhemail Mustafa.” She introduced a practical and sustainable solution by using plastic waste and 3D printing technology to create necessary school tools.

Her project particularly resulted in the organization of a multi-day hands-on workshop for the students of this school, where they had the opportunity to directly learn about the process of plastic reuse. During this workshop, students were introduced to how plastic waste can be processed and transformed into filament, which is then used in 3D printing.

Through this process, they not only gained technical knowledge about the use of 3D technology, but also developed a deeper understanding of the importance of recycling and sustainability. In the end, the students were able to create their own 3D models of school tools, making this experience a valuable combination of practical learning, innovation, and environmental awareness.
