UPCYCLING WORKSHOPS 4: MASKS
At the end of October, DYVÓLAB hosted a special edition inspired by the spirit of Halloween, Upcycling Workshops 4: Masks. This session invited participants to explore the creative transformation of plastic waste into expressive and imaginative masks, combining sustainability with seasonal inspiration.
Transforming Plastic into Artistic Expression
The workshop focused on reusing plastic materials, primarily collected from various types of bottles and turning them into wearable art. Participants were introduced to techniques for cutting, shaping, and assembling plastic elements, discovering how discarded materials can be reimagined into bold and unconventional designs.
Inspired by Halloween Atmosphere
Set within a playful and slightly mysterious Halloween ambiance, the workshop encouraged participants to experiment with form, texture, and character. The festive theme provided a creative framework, allowing each individual to design masks that ranged from abstract and artistic to theatrical and symbolic.
From Waste to Identity
Each mask became a reflection of personal creativity, as participants explored different visual identities through their designs. The process highlighted how upcycling can go beyond functionality, becoming a medium for storytelling and self-expression.
Creativity Meets Sustainability
By repurposing plastic waste into unique masks, the workshop reinforced the importance of sustainable practices in creative work. Participants not only developed new skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for the potential hidden within everyday materials.
